The Russian flag now flies from atop this police station in Slaviansk after armed men seized it Saturday.

Crowds are now watching the latest takeover of Ukraine's public buildings by pro-Russian militants who are demanding autonomy from Kiev.

As supporters chant "fascism will not get through," one armed man has a message.

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) ARMED MAN, WHO GAVE HIS NAME AS KOSTYA, SAYING:

"I'd like to say hello to the Kiev residents from Donbas. See what you have done. How could you allow those authorities, the junta?"

Meanwhile, pro-Russian protesters remain camped out in the Donetsk administration building.

They've been occupying the building for a week now, demanding a referendum to bring them closer to Russia.

A similar scene in Luhansk, another eastern city with pro-Russian protesters occupying a government building.

While authorities in Kiev have pledged more autonomy for regional governments -- protesters have not budged.
