A Virginia woman was in the middle of a seven-mile run near her home in last week when she was knocked unconscious by an airborne deer.
Krystine Rivera, 27, was jogging alongside Claiborne Parkway in Virginia at around 6pm when an SUV hit the young buck and sent him flying toward her.
Rivera told reporters, "I was running, then I was on the ground and then was listening to the paramedic. I'm surprised I made it out alive."
The driver of the SUV, a 71-year-old woman was travelling southbound near the exit ramp to the Dulles Greenway when the poor deer stepped into the roadway and was sideswiped by the front passenger side of her vehicle.
The impact sent the hapless beast into the air, and into Rivera as she was pounding the pavement.
Both women were taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital for treatment and were released the next day.
Poor old bambi meanwhile, ran off immediately after the impact.
A nearby resident found its carcass being feasted upon by a group of vultures the next day.
