A man from China's Sichuan province, Li Jen, amazingly survived being impaled on a lamppost after falling 50-feet from building.

Li returned home one day to discover that he had locked himself out. Instead of paying for a locksmith to help him open the door, he decided to go back outside and scale a 50-foot high wall to reach his apartment balcony.

During his climb, Li slipped and fell directly onto a lamppost, impaling himself on the nine-centimeter-wide pole. He ended up dangling midair several feet from the ground.

People nearby heard Li screaming in agony and called emergency services. Fireman were forced to cut the lamppost and transport it, with Li still attached to it, to the hospital. Medics said the pole luckily managed to miss all of Li's essential organs after it speared into his body.

It took a three-hour surgery before doctors were able to remove the pole from Li's body. He was placed in intensive care, and is expected to make a full recovery.
