The Mughal Empire evolved from the Turco-Mongol Chagatai Khanate and ruled over much of the Indian subcontinent from the 16th to 19th centuries. It was founded by the Timurid Babur who incorporated a strong Persian influence into this cultural melting pot. (I have videos on classical India to post too so hang tight).
