One policeman has been killed and at least one other injured in a bomb attack in Cairo according to security forces.
It is the latest incident in a 24-hour surge of violence in Egypt and came just hours after the Interior Ministry said a suicide bomber killed himself and a soldier at a checkpoint in South Sinai.
In a second attack further south in the same area a bus was targeted on the road between EL Tur and the tourist destination of Sharm El-Sheik.
It reported the injured were employees of a tourist company.
Militant attacks in Egypt have spiralled since the army deposed Mohamed Mursi of the Muslim Brotherhood last July.
