Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z for PS3 developed by Team Ninja, Spark Unlimited, and Comcept and published by Tecmo Koei.
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is barely... well, it's barely a lot of things. It's barely Ninja Gaiden, except the particularly hacky slashy bits and some of the quicktime-event-heavy parkour elements. It's barely a zombie game, especially after the resourcefulness-centric gameplay of Keiji Inafune's previous work, Dead Rising, left us hoping for something a little more inventive out of the horror survival genre. You might not be running around with two chainsaws duct-taped to a kayak paddle, but you might just rip a clown's arms off and use 'em as nunchaku. "Nun-chuckles," to run headlong into the pun.
