Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary, Shireen Mazari, on Thursday blamed Geo News for practicing ‘journalism of blackmailing.’

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Shireen Mazari said Geo is working as a media cell for the government.
The PTI leader also lambasted Geo for blaming country’s prime intelligence agency’s chief after attack on its senior journalist Hamid Mir.

She said Mir Shakilur Rehman was aware of every step being taken by Geo administration to malign national security institution’s image during eight hour long transmission.

“Those who violated law should be brought to justice” she demanded.

Shireen Mazari further demanded audit of Mir Khalilur Rehman Foundation.

She also alleged that PML-N ministers have been seen supporting Geo all the time.

Incumbent government is weakening the institutions by supporting the channel, she added.
