LASIK Eye Surgery Co-Management combines the best of your Loveland Optometrist and the Ophthalmologist. As a professional partner with the ophthalmologist who performs the surgery, Dr. Van has been trained in all aspects of the procedure. He will ensure that you are well prepared for the surgery and that you understand your surgical options. Additionally he will provide you with all the necessary pre-op exams and preparations, plus any required post-op care for up to 12 months following the surgery.

Will I still need glasses or contact lenses after Lasik?

The goal of refractive surgery with Lasik is to reduce your need for glasses or contact lenses. Sometimes a patient may need prescription glasses to help with night vision while driving. It's also possible that your vision will change as you age, at which time you may need reading glasses.
How soon after LASIK surgery will my vision be noticeably better?
Your new, corrected vision will be noticeable as soon as a few hours after surgery. Most patients find the change is permanent within a few days. About three percent of patients do not have fully-corrected vision after their Lasik procedure. In all or nearly all cases, the physician in charge will perform an additional Lasik procedure to improve this.
