Nasir Khan Durrani has said that recruitment and postings and transfers in police are being made on merit and there is no political interference in such matters as promised by the provincial government.
He said that the he had joined his office on the condition of non-interference in operational matters of police by the government.
He said that all possible efforts had been made to ensure transparency in the recruitment by entrusting it to the National Testing Service while the promotions were being carried out through Evaluation and Testing Authority.

Mr Durrani said that the younger generation would be attracted to the police force due to the transparency and rule of merit.
He said that the police force was being made people-friendly and the constitution of dispute resolution committees (DRCs) on district and lower level was a step in that direction.
