For all the crap they had to go through to get this much movie in the can, it's amazing it's any good at all. Nevermind the fact it was good enough to spawn a whole sub-genre of Hollywood sci-fi/action movie...though, watching this, I'm amazed at how much it resembles the disaster movies it trounced at the box office.
