Flights operations have been resumed at Karachi airport.
A domestic flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) PK -308 has left for Islamabad from Karachi airport while a PIA flight from Islamabad will arrive at 6pm.
Talking to media at Karachi airport, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Civil Aviation Shujaat Azim said normalcy has been restored at the Karachi airport and flights are now operating according to the schedule. He said the security of the airports is being tightened further.
Shujaat Azeem said no damage was caused to planes in the terrorists attack.
Meanwhile, final report of Karachi airport attack had been presented to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to the report, the terrorists barged into the old airport from two different sides and attempted to paralyze the civil aviation network. They wanted to destroy all the aircraft parked at the airport.
The Airport Security Force demonstrated bravery and stopped the terrorists from entering Quaid-e-Azam terminal.
The personnel of ASF, Army and Rangers by sacrificing their lives safeguarded the precious assets of the nation. In the joint operation, security forces killed all the terrorists.
The flights operation had been suspended and airport closed following the terrorist attack at Karachi airport on Sunday night.
Earlier, Jinnah International Airport in Karachi had been reopened at 2:00pm for passengers after security personnel completed their search operation and declared the area safe, Dunya News reported on Monday.
