When one has lost their aspiration,
Yet continues to dream at night,
Who are we to decide that they can't be who they want to be by light?
But once shattered dreams become harsh reality,
And people you once pulled in close
are the ones striking you down with your own dreams...
Who are we then?
So from the point you realise karmas cruel endings,
There's no going back to unsettled beginnings,
However once you accept this,
Your open to faces of the world you didn't know existed.
So what do you decide?
Do you accept what was once your ambition
Or deny the pain which you call 'life'?
Do you go out there and show those 'friends' who spat on your dreams,
That your no longer a caterpillar shying in other peoples cocoons?
You're the butterfly soaring miles out of reach
Of their poisoning claws.
Or do you wallow in self pitty and hatred for others,
Until the day your met with hammers and knuckles?
The same knuckles you could have flown from,
Are the ones beating down your only wings.
It's from this decision your judged apron the illusion,
That your dreams don't represent you.
