She waits for daylight
because the night is for dreamers
and she won't give in to that
The moon is an ornament
Something to gaze at, and nothing more
Stars are just holes in her darkness
She waits for daylight
because the night whispers warnings
It says things that can numb the soul
and take back promises
She waits for daylight
when the world opens for business
and noise drowns out silence
and me, I love her from here
and wait for the sky to fall
It keeps me grounded
and it's all I have left
