Dr John Celes - Sonnet: Impartial Death is Prompt and Swift

More faces known to me have vanished fast;
Most mammoth trees are nowhere to be found;
Even some children have enjoined the past,
And many elderly are homeward bound!

Some mountains have been leveled to the ground;
Some skyscrapers were razed down, built anew;
Some pits land-filled have risen up into mounds;
The old order has given to the new!

Many a species has become extinct;
Autumns and winters make ready for springs;
A few old human beings turn distinct;
Death neither favors paupers nor the kings!

A famous forest has gone off the map;
A huge desert has floral green a cap!
