Why keep our love a secret
Burying me deep inside?
Why withhold your affections
At the same time wounding my pride?

Why make me chase you around
Making a stalker of me?
Why not love me openly
So that everyone can see?

Why must I ask for kisses?
Why must I beg for love?
Why am I made to guess
The things you're thinking of?

Why don't I know your heart
Or if I'm held in there?
Why do you act as if
My love's a cross to bear?

Why do you say you love me
If it really isn't so?
And why, if you don't love me
Won't I turn around and go?
