Glimmering creature
You lie
My killer Queen
Beauty is a simple passion
Yet to be seen
Let’s take a peek
In the quiet hallways
Deserted ghost towns
We visit like cemeteries
Quietly
Did they ever tell you
How you grew to be a Goddess
No one knows praise
Like the fool
About to drink Socrates’ hemlock
Like water
Pass you hand
I want wine
My shining mermaid
Finally finding your legs
Did anyone ever tell you
Your eyes shine
Like collapsing super novas
I think that makes them
Black holes
But they work their magic
Better than witches
And fairy God-mothers
Even if I do wonder
If one’s looking out for me
Where you’re concerned
Ah my Majesty
With your deadly stream
Of beautiful lines
I wish I was there to tie
Your lips
With mine
I look at the veins
Under sun baked skin
And wonder
How much of you
Runs through these tiny tubes
Like Cleopatra’s last moments
Drunk with poison
Bittersweet
There aren’t red hot iron dancing shoes
Or apples coated with dead cherry chemical concoctions
There is only me and you
Ever after
