Often we hear tales of valiant men,
heroes from legends of old;
heroes that rise up against evil
and stand up for the good,
Seeking justice for
the poor, and the weak in the world.

And I wonder,
Has the world forgotten the unseen
And ordinary heroes of today?
Has the world turned a blind eye
To the men and women who
Fight the everyday battles
To keep a child’s hopes and dreams alive

These are the real heroes
Of every day America
The unseen and forgotten mentors
Of the upcoming generation
And the future leaders of tomorrow

Often we hear tales of valiant men

Of everyday America

Take the time to see
The men and women
Who are in our schools teaching everyday
These truly remarkable people
Who dedicate their lives
To keep the hopes and dreams
Of tomorrow’s leaders alive
