He poured in the powder
Dropped in that musket ball
Packed in that plug that day
Hoped was enough after all
He pulled back the hammer
He waited for the word
The soon to be first shot that day
To be heard around this earth
The enemy lined up
Bright and shiny red
Soon a shot it rang out
Over something was said
The shot heard around the world
The shot heard around this earth
Only one shot
But the whole world it heard
The British came down
Now the Colonies must fight
Said of the British now
We'll teach you wrong from right
Said to the British, the Colonies
This is our turf
You want to fight, bring it on
But you best bring this whole earth
The war it was waged
For years they fought on
But in the end the Colonies would win
They sent them British home
The shot heard around the world
The Colonies blew their horns
The shot heard around this earth
The day a free nation born.
