You can do it by making a long overdue phone call,
Or by sending a card, or maybe just dropping by.

You can do it through a word of appreciation for
The sacrifices he has made to take care of you.

You can do it maybe with a small gift, although he’s
Not really into those things very much.

You can do it by taking a little walk with him,
While you thank him for being there for you.

You can and should do it, not because he’s perfect,
But because he is your father and God wants you to.

It’s your chance of turning the tide, not because you
Feel like it, or want to, but because it’s the right thing.

He’s not perfect, but he is your dad.
He’s not always right, but he is your dad.
He may even have hurt you, but he is your dad.
He may at times have let you down, but he is your dad.

God instructs us to honor him,
So even in the smallest way,
Take time to show him love;
Make this a happy Father’s Day!
