time bent as i thought
of you while walking
down the old verandah
the spaciousness
and quiet of the field
precipitated the loneliness
kept so long in the heart
a stagnant lake
that awaits rain
to freshen up the water
the verandah where
an anxious heart had
beaten to his/her steps
where the molten love
flame spilt over without
an acknowledgement
from the desired
even when we were
two metres apart
yet a love that boiled
yet the fiery emotion
of spring love
raged on inside me
where every breeze
evoked romanticism
every blade of grass
danced as if to show
their care, to calm this young heart
that craved for a gentle touch of love

inspired by:

'I Thought of You'
I thought of you and how you love this beauty,
And walking up the long beach all alone
I heard the waves breaking in measured thunder
As you and I once heard their monotone.
Around me were the echoing dunes, beyond me
The cold and sparkling silver of the sea -
We two will pass through death and ages lengthen
Before you hear that sound again with me.
