The only New England state not to border the Atlantic ocean, compact Vermont still has plenty about which to boast. The state is famous for its sweet export, maple syrup, and Champy the mythical monster inhabitant of Lake Champlain. But to enjoy Vermont in its pomp, visitors flock to the region during its gorgeous fall foliage season, when leaves exhibit a dizzying array of colors set against the state’s rustic charms.
