Second Innings - This is a collection of poems written for or from the point of view of an ageing person.

My contemporaries rule the roost
While the ranks of my peers has taken a boost.
They have a reason to boast,
For they’re in heaven where God plays host!
I’m stuck here, a little out of place
Old at 90 and bored without my friends.
Sole representative in a world that now seems strange
Just waiting for a green signal from the man upstairs.
Call me soon; there’s much to look forward to.
A lot of catching up to do-
At the Reunion with my old buddies.
And I hope there in the waiting
Are gorgeous ladies I can please!
(See buddies; I’m still the old me
A man crazy for ladies!)
