could i be mirroring your demise,
forced to watch the withering of your soul,
a flower on the table, drained by the heat,
of its unatural home,
is that it? , did you not belong here.
is that why you surrended yourself to the black dog,
and the blue walls of deppression.
Did the tops of the trees,
and the same singing birds,
not burn through your eyes,
as you lay, day and night,
on your bed of a thousand tears.
I remember peering in,
watching you, watch one fragment of the world,
not moving, froze in deep, darkened thought.
As the birds came and went,
and the trees, blossomed, and shed.
How a mood can poisen a room,
without a single word spoken.
how a tear can shower all.
How the pain of unexplainable torment,
can melt ones face,
like a long burning night candle,
no longer smooth and erect,
now mishapen.

like the locked door of your bedroom,
you kept your pain imprisoned,
10 years later the son of a manic deppresive,
suddenly starts to feel,
out of place,
and finds himself crying for no apparent reason,
feeling like i have been catapulted into the air,
and then shot at from a thousand riflemen,
left searching the land for the scattered limbs of my emotions.
maybe now i can finally say,
i know how you feel.
