And so I waited,
for the moments, you see,
for the moments that were to exalt me.

The moments when I would realize
the absurdity of it all,
the incongruousness of my behaviors.

The moments that would awaken
the burden of understanding,
the selflessness within.

The moments that would provoke,
the desirous turbulence,
the rush of blood.

And I wait still,
Hoping...
