Scarlett Treat - Poetry Landscape Reclaimed

I am the latest
In a long line
Of Landscapers,
By profession,
That is,
And I am doing my best
To reclaim the Landscape
Of poetry.

Reclaiming the things
I hope to save, like words,
And rhymes, and rhythms,
And phrases of beauty.

I re-take the moments,
Days and times kept close,
So close to my heart......
Those times and words
Which create a voice,
My voice,
To speak my heart,
To speak my soul.

I re-take a breath,
Stopping to think,
To remember,
To feel, to treasure those moments
Which speak my heart,
Which speak my soul.

Speaking thoughts which are mine,
But wanting to share them with you,
A sculpture,
A square stone to last till eternity,
To take it, chisel it, hew it
Into words of purity, and beauty,
Words of joy and sorrow,
And love unbounding,

And then I stand in a trance
Of Creative Amazement.
I look back, in shock,
That those words are mine,
And I cannot help but wonder
From where they came,
But somehow knowing
They speak my voice,
My heart, my soul.

Again, thanks to Gregory Collins for some of the phrases I have used
here. Two minds merging, speaking from heart to heart, in love and friendship, creating harmony and peace, making beautiful thoughts.
Gregory, don't let the 'Gators bite, OK?
