Who gave us the mountains,
Succulent mountains in the sunlight,
And adorned with gray shadows
That slightly tremble and run?
Who gave us the snowflakes
That drifted in the evening light,
And dominated the countryside stillness,
As the dusk is begun?
Who gave us the pond
Often ice bound and frozen
With ardent ice skaters,
And campfires aglow?
Who gave us the birds
That dwell in the pine trees
As the sound of the wind roars
At the birdfeeder below?
Who gave us a gentle heart
With that peace universal,
And an everlasting love of humankind,
The spirit to live and forgive?
