Rent
I shall start charging,
Rent for the time,
That you spend,
Occupying my mind.
You’re always there,
Night and day,
I don’t recall,
Asking you to stay.
Wherever I go,
Whatever I do,
You are in my head,
I can’t get through.
A single minute,
Nor second on my own,
You’re like a monarch,
That sits on a throne.
Dictating what I feel,
Dictating how I think,
Further and further,
I seem to sink.
Into an abyss,
With you in my mind,
When will you leave?
I cannot seem to find.
A way to get you out,
And so I have to say,
Please pay me rent,
If you’re planning to stay.
