in betwen lunching and supper
there is munching,
in between supper and a midnight snack
the mandibles are busy

jaws set on a course of eight
probiscus snifs out eatables,
from all the cupboard corners,

fidgity palate, itchy crunching teeth
fuss, tongue buds salivate and drool
placate the nervous systems ache,
gluttony nibbling and meditative gait,
