Disappointments I battle with every step as they come on to me as a tornado
Every misstep I take I curse myself for not getting it right
The sheer foolishness of it makes me try and give myself a kick
I try my best I keep telling me
But that’s no consolation for the wounded soul
I want what I want, neither less nor more it yells
The soul is the king always almost it confirms
I may take a right but left it is if that’s where it wants to go
It steers me from most storms as it goes
But I do get caught in one of life’s tornadoes
Spluttering, choking I try to get a foothold
But the fury of the things overwhelm me a whole
Life batters me throws me to the rocks
Battered ragged I almost lose it to the wormhole
A dolphin comes by to give me company in the empty sea
But the song of the soul drives it away as far as it can go
