To him 'tis such an effort just to walk along the street
Shackled by his inhibitions people he doesn't wish to meet
Not a community type of person his band of friends doesn't grow
He just keeps to himself mostly and new people does not wish to meet or know.
Not diagnosed as one with a phobia such a term to him does not apply
A gentle and quietly spoken fellow must be hard to feel so shy
His like never in the limelight himself he cannot promote
He'll always be an outsider never seen as one of note.
For to become part of a social group such thoughts he doesn't entertain
As a person of the social fringe he is happy to remain
He's happy with his own company drinks on his own in the pub
He will always be a loner never part of any club.
A shy and single man in his mid thirties as a shy and single man he will grow old
But those who know him better say he has a heart of gold
That he is not self centred he would help one if he could
He is quite a decent person and in him there is so much good.
