I love the way she smiles at her batch of freshly packed pickles
Satisfied of they're crispy goodness and pleased to be
The center of everyone's attention at the regional County fair this week
Though the praise and extolling only last for a few short days every year....
It will be enough to carry her over until the Pillsbury Bakeoff competition
When in the late fall just before the Town's harvest begins in earnest
She will be rolling out the dough and mixing her batters, all set to enter
Her six time Blue Ribbon entries of Rhubarb Strawberry Pie
And the much esteemed Seven Layer Red Velvet Cheesecake w/ her very secret ingredient
Which she protects with her heart and soul because it is so hard to duplicate
And wishing not to take a chance of callas disclosure, she bakes alone knowing
People will always take a stab as to its elemental mixture and flavoring
But they won't ever guess it....because it is something only she possesses
Velveeta ® loves to tease the hearts and minds of her jealous competition
And I love the way she smiles at her batch of freshly packed pickles
Because I know what goes into making up this particular Red State Woman
Who loves most of all to please her Red State man.....
