What do you see when you reach the summit
Of a mountain that took a lifetime to scale
Is the peaceful sight comforting without regret?
Or are streams of knowledge causing you pale?

In moments before lapsing into unconsciousness
A review shows a panoramic scene of your ascent
Revealing an upward trail that fades into blankness
The past cannot be change with a retraced descent
