All of his years he has spent in Wonthaggi
And from Loch Street he never has been far away
And he worked for a few decades as a share farmer
When he was younger with his brother Ray.

Bought their own farm through their honest endeavour
And when Ray passed on their asset he sold
Jack of Loch Street never did have it easy
But you might say he has a 'heart of gold'

My travels have taken me to many places
And some good people I have been lucky to meet
But none so kind hearted or as willing to help you
As the happy go lucky bloke Jack of Loch Street.

A worker, a rabbiter, a share farmer and farmer
And when down on his luck he just seemed to bounce back,
A fisherman who loves the sea and the coastlands
And a very remarkable fellow is Jack.

All of his years he has lived in Wonthaggi
And better than him you could not wish to meet
And he's never yearned for the distant places
The happy go lucky bloke Jack of Loch Street.
