He’ll never forget the taste of the summer air, the feel of the atmosphere
She stood close but not intimate, he knew that once he had been here
He didn’t know why he had to even ask, their eyes filled with pain
Her tear fell to the ground as though it contained his name
Her back faced him
The walls closed in
He moved forward with one hand on her shoulder in desperation
Greeted with silence
His forever ended with the sight of tail lights
Unanswered phone calls, no goodnights
His soul, his hand, his passenger seat… Empty
If he just let the wheel go the hurt would subside, he let the thought tempt thee
The end of his eternity was the beginning of an empty heart
The beginning of a regretless boy with a new start
One the world had never seen of him
Once chivalrous with their well being before his own
Now a boy who keeps them distant to his thrown
A boy who once made love makes lust
No regard for his new commitments he lives for his own
His new commitments, naïve, gives him all their trust
His frequencies with others remains unknown
Frequently
The new boy is a mask worn by the old
It is an armor that hides his old wound, and protects him from another pierce of the heart
The mask hides the old boy’s shame of the new boys mold
