Nkululeko Mdudu - I Hear the Singing

Crackle crackle pot and kettle;
how the water boils slow.
Crackle crackle dust come settle,
And hear the singing down low.

Bubble bubble burn and boil,
Ancient as the deep blue sea.
Ain't no bubble wrapped in foil;
floating high and delicately.

Waffle waffle stealing eggs;
steady aiming upon his head.
Waffle waffle-crack goes the egg,
And I shoot the poor dog dead.

Empty crackling pots and kettles,
Burning bubbles in the sea,
An egg stealing dog now dead
hears no crackling, only singing in his head.
