Sufi students in California have protested against the Italian designer Roberto Cavalli over the use of a perfume logo it is claimed copies a sacred symbol from the branch of Islam.

There have been several such demonstrations in North America, Europe and on social media, and more are planned.

The company argues the logos are different and denies any wrongdoing.
