MUZAFFARGARH: At least seven members of a family were electrocuted by underground live wires here on Saturday, Samaa reported.
According to police, the deceased men were laborers, who accidentally struck the subterranean electricity wires while laying down a gas pipeline in Turkish Colony.
"Initially the electric shock killed four workers and injured others; however, three more people died shortly after", an official told Samaa.
Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, has announced the provincial government would pay Rs1 million each as compensation to the bereaved families.
