Dear Dad, if you only knew
That I grew up to be just as you.
A wife deserted for some figment new
And then by that fiction deserted too.
I know you’d smile, pat my back and say
“Well sometimes things can all go that way”.
A sin of the father bequeathed to the son?
Or just of a son and a father one.
