You had me where you wanted me
I was a slave to your sultry charms
I always dreamed of holding you
So close within my warm, willing arms.
You were my one beam of sunshine
You always put a smile on my face
I would have done anything for
Just one kiss or one tender embrace.
I bet you were laughing inside
As you strung me along with such ease
But now I see your promises
Are as fruitless as the autumn trees.
So now I’ve rid myself of you
I feel as free as a white winged dove
For, no longer do I hold the
Burden of my unrequited love.
