Charles Darkly - Green Tea and Explosives

I live my life as of yet untitled
no central character to cheer for
no answers for this war torn nation
still recovering from uncivil war
Stare longingly at our crumbled home
faint hints of the decimation
The cracked plaster of these walls
stained as if painted with green tea
Like the green tea we drank as we sat
on a warm summer night
watching as nitroglycerine explosives
demolished indigenous life ways
to make a path for industrial rail ways
I grow weary already
at such a young age
I do not know that I can keep this pace
other than pacing back and forth
in the drawing room
where the clock with the nervous tic
shares my frustration as we talk
If I had been born in your age
perhaps we would have lasted
I know not where these words come from
or what they mean
I only know that you and I had a home
with walls stained as if with green tea
and quickly demolished with explosives
before either knew what we had lost
Clutching green tea and explosives
We are refined but violent
And time will sweep away our story
like all great tragedies should
