Like a caterpillar, I long to be
Happy with my destiny
Childhood built on borrowed time
She's not so free to roam
Makes herself a cacoon
A shelter for the Alone
Wraps herself up in memories
thoughts and dreams
Content on learning her
meaning of things
Lingers inside till
She knows that she is ready
Her colors, her stripes, her spots
cover her wings that are steady
Emerging to face the world when
something tells her it's time
And no matter what the changes
She know that she will be fine
As she moves on
and gives her new freedom a try
she hopes that you
remember the caterpillar
inside the butterfly
The real beauty of the butterfly
Can not be seen only through eyes
And if you have to wonder why
The love for her is a bunch of lies
