Psaltydog's Thoughts - Ivory Pebbles Along the Shore

Grey waters wash o’er a storm swept shore
Collecting ivory pebbles at the draw of each wave
One by one 'til there are no more
No more ivory pebbles along the shore

Yet, the sea teams with music from a lass dressed in grey
Her keyboard keeping in time with the tapping of her feet
Her mates all in sync with the stomping style of Quebecois
Her hair twists and turns with the sound of each beat

I see in her eyes the blue of the sea
I see in her eyes a want to be free
While men would cross oceans for the touch of her hand
Still, no time to count moments of all that could be

If a soul can be conquered at a glimpse of her smile
If a heart can be broken by one simple song
If a shoreline is measured by meter or mile
Then what can fill a void of all that is gone?

With each passing wave upon the shore
Ivory pebbles are drawn out like a piano keyboard
Still, her music resounds in my fairy-tale lore
Honing the burs in my life of discord
Like ivory pebbles along the shore
