http://www.nbe-inc.com/bbd - The process-specific design of this fully integrated bulk material handling system brought significant process efficiency gains to this unique production environment. Physical restrictions of the facility prevent the use of conventional bulk material conveying methods. Previous methods of manual unloading and filling of the containers led to considerable material waste, inconsistent batch weights, and the release throughout the facility of material dust. The NBE bulk bag unloader controls the bag discharging process; the E3® bag spout interface eliminates material spillage when untying, retying, or removing an empty bulk bag. An in-line agitator hopper ensures consistent material feed to a short-run screw conveyor that transfers material to the integrated bulk container filler. The bulk containers are received into the container filler docking station upon a bulk container transfer cart. The integrated controls and automation of the system direct the filling and weighing of each bulk container. The turntable feature of the docking station automatically positions each container for individual filling and weighing. The scale system ensures highly accurate container filling. Multiple dust collection points remove nuisance dusts from the work area and return product to the process sequence.
