At least two security personnel were martyred in a suicide attack at military checkpost in North Waziristan tribal region, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
According to sources, the suicide attacker rammed his car into a security forces’ checkpost in Spinwam area of Shawa.
After the blast security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. However, no arrest was reported.
While the operation Zarb-e-Azb progresses as per plan, terrorists inside cordoned area are making desperate attempts to flee from the area .Several attempts by terrorists to flee from cordoned off area have been foiled, the ISPR reported.
On Monday, 10 terrorists were killed while fleeing from the cordoned off area in Spinwam and Mirali. 2 soldiers died in exchange of fire.
According to AFP, Pakistan s armed forces have used jet fighters, tanks and artillery in the offensive, killing around 300 people they have described as militants, though the toll and identity of the victims are impossible to verify.
The offensive has seen the northwestern tribal area of North Waziristan hit by more than a week of shelling and air raids, and more than 450,000 people have fled ahead of an impending ground assault, with many going to the nearby town of Bannu.
