MQM Chief Altaf Hussain said on Wednesday people have engaged doing politics, while country’s army has been fighting against the terrorists and sacrificing their lives for fellow countrymen.
Talking to the general workers’ meeting, Altaf Hussain said Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) was the only welfare organisation, which had built high rank university and school where world class education was being provided. He instructed his workers to collect charity and Fitra during upcoming Ramzan with showing of morality and ethics.
MQM Chief said they who involved in killings of the activists of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), should be brought to the justice and should severely be punished. He demanded to rehabilitate the people of Chilas who were force to vacant their houses and lands due to projected Bhasha Dam. Government should compensate the deprived people and should provide them appropriate livings.
MQM Deputy Conveners Dr Khalid maqbool Siddiqui, Engr. Nasir jamal, Dr Nusrat, members Coordination Committee, Parliamentarians, Senators and thousands of activists were present on the occasion.
He said the general workers’ meeting was organised to plan for the collection of charity, Fitra and donations during the Ramazan. He MQM’s welfare organisation KKF involved in various charity and voluntary works, including to help flood affected-people, IDP’s, earthquake victims, arrangement of free-medical camps, Ambulance services, goods and rations for poor and other works.
Altaf Hussain felicitated in advance to all his party workers for upcoming Ramazan and condemned the price hike prior to the holy month. He said the high inflation caused poor to break his fast with water only. He appealed to the grocers and vendors to take appropriate profits and let the poor to celebrate the holy according to the religious zeal.
He said KKF was a welfare organisation kept supporting poor and needy persons and distributing various goods and food items. He said it bore expenses of thousands of families and provided supports to the poor to start their businesses to earn their livings.
Altaf Hussain appealed to the women in Punjab to come into action and follow the foot-steps of Tahira Asif, who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. He also prayed for slain MNA Tahira Asif and consoled for her family members to show patience at the time of crisis.
He said for Model Town incident, the suo-moto action should have been taken against the culprits and the government, especially Prime Minister, Punjab Chief Minister and police officials should be called for justifications. He said despite all differences with Dr Tahirul Qadri, no one had any right to suppress his voice and he condemned people abusing him.
Altaf Hussain said Pakistan army involved in a severe operation against the terrorists, despite supporting country’s army and people were doing their politics. He also appealed to MQM Parliamentarians and Senators to donate their one-day salary to the IDPs.
