North Korea’s Kim Jong-un has warned Hollywood and the US government that if the upcoming film ‘The Interview’ is released it will be deemed an act of war.

The comedy, slated for an October debut, stars Seth Rogen and James Franco.

They play journalists who secure an interview with the North Korean leader and then receive a CIA order to assassinate him.

Kim Jong-un doesn’t find the plot line the least bit funny.

One of his spokespeople announced, "The act of making and screening such a movie that portrays an attack on our top leadership... is a most wanton act of terror and act of war, and is absolutely intolerable.”

He also promised a "resolute and merciless response" should the film make it to a theater screen.

Seth Rogen has taken a light approach to the criticism, tweeting that he hoped Kim Jong-un enjoys the movie.
