Most people want to stay away from snakes. But one man had other ideas.

Police in Gastonia, North Carolina are searching for a suspect who broke into a local reptile store and stole 30 thousand dollars worth of snakes. One of the stolen creatures is a rare python that is worth over 12 grand.

Over 30 snakes were swiped by the man. According to Jonathan McMillan, the owner of the store called Reptile Passion, the culprit broke the shop's window with a stone at approximately 3 on a recent Sunday morning.

Once inside, the suspect walked directly to the back room where the albino super tigers, pythons and albino red tail boas were kept.

The suspect, who covered his face with a bandana and toboggan, grabbed the snakes out of their containers and tossed them all into a bag. McMillan thinks the suspect visited the store very recently and knew which snakes are worth the most money.

While an investigation into the thefts is underway, McMillan has a direct message for the thief. He said “I’m going to find you, that you can bet on, because you have one of the only snakes around here and no one else has it so you will get caught.”

McMillan admitted that his snakes are not insured.
