Should a movie ever be made about her, Hillary Clinton said she would like to be played by Meryl Streep.
Should a movie ever be made about her, Hillary Clinton said she would like to be played by Meryl Streep.
The former Secretary of State and potential Presidential candidate revealed that preference recently during an interview with the Guardian.
Clinton spoke to the paper recently while in Europe promoting her memoir ‘Hard Choices’.
That she would name the highly celebrated actress is not entirely a surprise.
Streep and Clinton have been friendly over the years, including at the Kennedy Center Honors gala a couple of years ago where they took a headline-making selfie.
Further, in the speech Streep gave at the 2012 Women in the World Summit she spoke of the similarities she shares with Clinton.
She said, “We're roughly the same age, we both have two brothers…we both grew up in middle-class homes with spirited, big-hearted mothers who encouraged us to do something valuable and interesting with our lives. We both went from public high schools to distinguished women's colleges.”
Also going for Streep is that she’s no stranger to playing political powerhouses, having portrayed Margaret Thatcher in the 2011 film, ‘The Iron Lady’.
