Armpit selfies seem to be all the rage in China. An increasing number of women and teenage girls are posting photos of their raised arms.
In some of the images, the females’ armpits have minimal hair, but in many others, the women are showing off their plentiful underarm growth.
There is a campaign on Weibo called the ‘girls not plucking armpit hair competition’ which challenges females to show off their unshaven pits. Presumably the intention behind it is to change social norms.

They appear to be perfectly happy showing off their hairy armpits to the world.
Chinese women aren’t the only ones who don’t mind missing a shave from time to time.
In the past, Julia Roberts, Britney Spears and Drew Barrymore have exhibited some serious armpit hair. Madonna is another celebrity who proudly displayed her underarm growth and even commented on the image. She noted ‘long hair…Don’t care!”
