Next spring Prince William will begin his new job of helping save lives.

He’ll be working for East Anglian air ambulance, a charity that provides medical attention to people in Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, and Cambridgeshire.

The heir to England’s throne will also be donating his salary to the cause.

Contracts are soon to be signed, and once they are it’s believed that Prince William will be the first in direct succession to take on a civilian job.

He’ll be based at Cambridge International Airport, which is close to the home that was recently renovated to accommodate him and his family.

Prior to taking to the skies a special license must be obtained.

Involved in the process are 5 months of training, a flight test, and 14 exams.

Once he’s officially signed on, the first several months of his new job will be spent as a co-pilot.

The Prince’s royal duties will continue to be satisfied while he’s working for East Anglian.

It’s said the charity plans to work his full-time schedule, which involved both day and night shifts, around such events.

The Duke of Cambridge has expressed that he’s both excited and motivated for his new role.
